A day trip to Chestnut Mountain Galena, IL for a day of skiing on January 16th (MLK day) (ICCSD no school day). In addition, the Snow Sports MB will be offered for anyone who wants to earn it; lead by MBC Tony DeFurio.
Carpool will depart from First Christain Church at 7:00 am sharp. Expect a 2 hour drive each way. Departure from Chestnut Mountain expected around 4:00 pm with a stop at Culver’s for dinner.
Bring cash for meals: lunch and snacks at the lodge (or bring a sack lunch) + for dinner after.
Friends and family are welcome.
Cost per skier:
$65.00 ski or snowboard rental, lift ticket, and lesson.
$55.00 lift ticket only.
$6.00 for helmet rental.
(cost includes transportation)
Drivers will be needed. If you wish to stay in the lodge there is no charge for you.
Drivers can be reimbursed for fuel if desired (with a receipt).
Helmet requirement:
BSA Safety Policies state that all Scouts/Family members and Adults must wear a helmet while skiing or snowboarding. Bring your own or rent one at Chestnut Mountain for $6.
All participants:
will need to complete the BSA Health Form Parts A and B (not part C). This includes scouts, adults, friends and family. Scouts will need to have a 2023 Permission Form on file with the Troop.
Signup Deadline is Jan. 4th to get rental preorders in. No refunds after the deadline.
Every Skier must fill out the form as an individual.
